OCP School Laboratory Project (OSL)

ADP Mbozi has been contracted to implement OCP School laboratory (OSL) project in 100 Villages in four districts of Songwe region. The project is a five months’ contract started on 15 April 2019 and ended on 17th September 2019. The targeted beneficiaries were 10,000 small holder farmers. A total number of 3000 farmers out of 10,000 targeted to be benefited from fertilization recommendations. A total number of 100 villages engaged in the project clustered into routes or caravans for easier execution of the project. The implementation of the project was done through 5 identified routes. The first route had 35 villages, second caravan had 18 villages, the third caravan had 24 villages, fourth of caravan had 12 villages and fifty route had 11 villages. Moreover, drinks and snacks, tents were supplied to the beneficiaries during the meeting campaigns.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT/ASSIGNMENT

Goal of the project was to increase yield and incomes of small holder farmers on strategic crops by offering a full set of agricultural services through mobilization of the 10,000 farmers on soil Analysis and testing and Capacity building to 10,000 farmers on good Agricultural practices in Songwe regions.

SUMMARY OF PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS

This section provides summary of activities implemented and the corresponding deliverables achieved. Table 2 below depicts overall project performance up to September 2019 in which the overall performance against planned the targeted in each deliverable is 100 Percent. ADP Mbozi  implemented the assignment successful where 10,664 (3,977) were trained on GAP. The trained farmers in  Mbozi counts 2,772, Momba 2,045, Ileje 3443 farmers, Tunduma Town ouncil 1,110 and Songwe district 1,294. A total of 3, 014 out the target benefited fertilizer recommendations.
